The U.S. fell behind twice in the match, but was able to pull even with goals from Preston Zimmerman and Dax McCarty at the AFA training center in Ezeiza outside the city. With only six players from the first camp of the year involved in this trip, the team faced a strong challenge from an experienced and physical Argentine squad. A lack of cohesiveness and match experience showed as the U.S. struggled early on to form their attack, with most opportunities coming from set pieces. Thirty minutes into the match, Carlos Borja lost the ball in midfield, leaving the U.S. flank exposed. With one pass an Arsenal forward was through, providing goalkeeper Steven Sandbo with little chance as he slotted the ball to the far post. But the lone goal of the half belied an even match as both sides battled for possession in a fast paced game with many strong challenges. The U.S. found their feet in the second half. Strong play down the left flank, starting with Blake Wagner at left back, led to the equalizer in the 54th minute. Sal Zizzo brought the ball back into the center for Josmer Altidore, whose pass to Borja gave Zimmerman space at the top of the area. The Hamburg SV reserve ran on to Borja´s through ball, sliding to beat the keeper and put the ball into the side netting. After Zimmerman's goal, the match opened up as both teams pushed forward. The U.S. began creating chances from open play, but it was Arsenal that struck next. A cross from the right midfielder tested Sandbo, who dove out to his right to punch it away, but the Arsenal left midfielder knocked the ball back into the mix. With Sandbo out of position, a lucky deflection found the head of an Arsenal player in the ensuing goalmouth scramble. The Arsenal player was poaching in the center and literally didn’t have time to duck his head before the ball struck him and went into the goal. The U.S. U-20s showed theirr character and scratched back into the game once again. Ten minutes later, after winning back possession, the U.S. defenders played the ball back to Sandbo who launched the ball into Arsenal´s half. Zizzu skillfully brought the ball down with a defender on his back and then found Zimmerman, who again found space to get inside his man and collect Zizzu´s pass. As he tried to turn towards goal inside the box, Zimmerman was brought down and the referee pointed to the spot. McCarty put away the ensuing penalty to finish the scoring for the day.

The United States U-20 National Team will have its first foreign camp of the year as it heads to Buenos Aires, Argentina on Tuesday.
Head Coach Thomas Rongen selected a 20 player roster which includes two New York Red Bulls. Rongen selected Red Bulls forwards Josmer Altidore and David Arvizu. It is both players first camp with the U-20's taking the jump from U-17 team. Altidore is the youngest player in the U-20 camp; turning 17 in November.
The U-20's will take on three opponents during their ten day trip to Argentina. The team will begin its trip playing against two youth clubs. It will first play Arsenal de Sarandi and then face off against one of South America's top clubs, River Plate. The trip will culminate with the U-20's first international game of the year as they take on defending U-20 World Cup Champions, Argentina.
"We are looking forward to our first foreign trip as we begin to formulate the team that will compete in the qualifying tournament for a berth in the World Cup next year," said Rongen in a statement. "It is still early in the process, but playing two quality games against top-notch Argentina club teams and then getting the chance to test ourselves against the reigning U-20 world champion makes this a very worthwhile camp. Going up against this high-level competition will help us to determine which players will probably be with us next year."
Arvizu will miss the New York Red Bulls game against DC United on April 22. Arvizu has not appeared in the Red Bulls lineup this season, but has been on the bench in the team's first two games. Altidore is not expected to appear regularly with the Red Bulls as he is finishing his final year of high school at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

River Plate got back to the top of the league standings by handing Rosario Central their first defeat under Leonardo Astrada, who resigned as River coach last year.
Striker Ernesto Farias and midfielder Victor Zapata scored first-half goals as River won 2-0.
River, who has 25 points, moved one ahead of …
Newell’s Old Boys 1 – 1 Boca Juniors
Newell's Old Boys was held to a 1-1 draw at home by Boca Juniors, who dropped to third place.
Midfielder Fernando Belluschi put Newell's ahead in the 63rd minute and Rodrigo Palacios leveled four minutes later.
Newell’s dropped to second, and Boca dropped to third place in the Argentine league. Colon de Santa Fe 1 – 1 IndependienteArgentina under-20 internationals, Oscar Ustari and Sergio Agüero played pivotal roles to help Independiente salvage a 1-1 draw at Colon on Wednesday. Striker Agüero, compared by many in Argentina to Barcelona hit-man Lionel Messi, headed Independiente's equaliser while goalkeeper Ustari kept them in the game with some superb second-half saves. Independiente fell behind in the 13th minute when Martin Pautasso turned the ball into his own net.
But Pautasso atoned by providing the cross for 17-year-old Agüero to head home the equaliser in the 35th minute.
Agüero could have added another four minutes over but wasted the chance by firing over.
In the second-half, Ustari, 19, blocked German Denis when he was clean through on goal and did well to block a shot from Diego Chitzoff.
Independiente, winless their last three outings, dropped to 11th in the Clausura championship with 16 points from 12 games. Colon is seventh with 20 points. Fabbianni strike in the 7th minute lifted 6th place Lanus over 18th Tiro Federal.
A mistake by Martin Herrera gave the home team the early edge, but Rodrigo Braña (19) and Agustin Alayes (49) propelled 10th place Estudiantes La Plata over 15th place Arsenal de Sarandi.

Lilian Thuram is in determined mood as Juventus approach the sizeable task of overturning Arsenal FC's imposing 2-0 advantage in their UEFA Champions League quarter-final, although he admits his side must be alert to the threat of Thierry Henry.'No script'"Winning is not impossible," the France defender said. "That's the nice thing about football - there is no script. Personally, I don't believe in miracles, yet I do believe we can win this match." It may not constitute a miracle but with Patrick Vieira, Mauro Camoranesi and Jonathan Zebina all suspended, Juventus will require inspiration from somewhere if they are to turn the tables on Arsenal.Henry cautionGoals in each half from Cesc Fabregas and Henry gave the Premiership club a first-leg lead last week. The precocious Cesc won acclaim for his performance at the heart of Arsenal's midfield, but with Juventus needing to score in Turin, the biggest danger could come from Thuram's France team-mate. "We need to be very careful of Henry," he warned. "He's very good when he has space at his disposal so we must ensure we don't give him any."Powerful bondThuram and Henry have forged a strong bond after playing together at AS Monaco FC before winning the FIFA World Cup and UEFA European Championship with Les Bleus in 1998 and 2000. However, that kinship will be forgotten for 90 minutes at the Stadio Delle Alpi. "When you play, you don't think about friendship," Thuram continued. "We're all professionals and we must think of our own game."Pragmatic approachThe 34-year-old's career has been marked by such pragmatism and asked what Arsenal scoring would mean to the Bianconeri's chances, his answer was simple: "If they score, we will have to pull off an even greater comeback. The outcome of football matches are never set in stone. It shouldn't be taken for granted that Arsenal are through - it's still not impossible for us to get the right result."Determined attitudeThis never-say-die attitude appears a requisite for Juventus, who came within two minutes of elimination in the first knockout round against Werder Bremen, before Emerson capitalised on a mistake by the visiting goalkeeper to send Fabio Capello's men through. Another great escape depends on "everyone being on form and with the right mentality, but sometimes it's difficult to harness collective purpose," said Thuram.Del Piero encouragementOminously for Arsenal, early indications from the Juventus camp are that the team are singing from the same hymn sheet. Alessandro Del Piero, ruled out with a thigh injury, took Thuram to one side after training on Tuesday and said: "See you in the semi-final."

Arsenal v Estudiantes
Estudiantes scored three goals Wednesday in their 2-1 victory over Arsenal, but only two were intentional. I am never somebody who looks back,'' the Arsenal boss declared. I knew the first year could be difficult without him, but once you make that decision, you accept that.
I am grateful for what Patrick has done for us, but I am focused on what the team is doing in the future.
To show that we have been right by doing this or that, is not important.
What is important is that we play well and that we qualify.''
The pace of the Serie A certainly seems to suit Vieira, giving him the opportunity to enjoy time and space on the ball - a luxury seldom afforded him in the high-tempo Barclays Premiership.
But for the midfielder, it was perhaps more about meeting his European aspirations rather than continued domestic dominance which led to his decision to call time on the Gunners after nine trophy-laden campaigns.
I made the decision to leave because I felt it was time for me to have a new challenge,'' said Vieira upon his arrival in Italy.
But that does not mean I was unhappy or that I was having a problem at Arsenal.
It was just that I had the feeling I needed to grow and meet a new challenge.''
The Frenchman insisted: ``I have no regrets about leaving Arsenal.
I had to turn the page, and I have done that. It has proved to be a fantastic move for me.
When I joined Juventus, I always knew I was coming to a side who would have the players to go far in the Champions League.
The final this year is being played at the Stade de France, where I won the World Cup in 1998, so it would be great to win the Champions League there as well.''
Juventus are hoping that delays to their travel plans are not a bad omen for Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final opener against Arsenal.
The Bianconeri were set to leave Turin's Casella airport at 11am on Monday morning but the late arrival of their charter plane forced them to change their plans at the last minute as their flight was delayed by three hours.
The Serie A leaders will hold a light training session on Monday evening at Highbury.
Fabio Capello's outfit appear to have recovered from Saturday's 1-1 draw against Roma.
The Bianconeri played the second-half with 10 men following Pavel Nedved's sending off, but Capello believes his team will be ready.
My players are in good form,'' he said.
Of course, when you have to play for 45 minutes down to 10 men it requires an extra effort but I don't think tiredness will be a factor in Tuesday's game against Arsenal.''
Former Chelsea winger Adrian Mutu will replace Nedved, who will miss the encounter through suspension.
With captain Alessandro Del Piero out of action with a thigh injury, Zlatan Ibrahimovic will partner the team's top scorer David Trezeguet in Juve's attack.
Capello is hoping to recover French defender Jonathan Zebina, who missed the clash against Roma with a groin injury.
Should Zebina not recover, Italy international Gianluca Zambrotta will take his place at right-back.
Meanwhile, Arsenal defender Sol Campbell's is out of theChampions League clash against Juventus at Highbury with a bruised toe.
The England centre-half had regained full match fitness following an ankle problem he picked up after an extended leave of absence in the wake of his nightmare first half against West Ham on February 1.
Manager Arsene Wenger said: ``Sol has a small setback following a bad tackle in training yesterday.
We think it will be 48 hours. It is just bad bruising on his toe, it is nothing major.
I had planned to involve him tomorrow night, but cannot do as he could not practice today.''
Freddie Ljungberg (calf) is also out, while Jose Antonio Reyes (hamstring) is a concern.
Togo striker Emmanuel Adebayor is cup-tied following his move from Monaco, while Ashley Cole (ankle), Pascal Cygan (hamstring), Arturo Lupoli (foot) and long-term absentee Lauren (knee) are all still missing.
Team (from): Lehmann, Almunia, Eboue, Toure, Senderos, Hleb, Flamini, Fabregas, Gilberto, Pires, Henry, Djourou, Song, Bergkamp, van Persie, Reyes, Walcott, Diaby.

The club was founded in January 1957 by brothers Héctor and Julio Humberto Grondona. Its jersey is light blue with a diagonal red band (roughly resembling the jersey used by River Plate); the colors were chosen to symbolize the union of the two bigger clubs in Avellaneda: Racing (light blue) and Independiente (red).
Julio Grondona went on to become the president of Independiente, and then, starting 1979, president of the Argentine Football Association, a post he still holds. He is also a vice-president of FIFA. Brother Héctor, and then son Julio Ricardo, followed him as presidents of Arsenal.
The club's best-known player is Jorge Burruchaga, who started his career in the club in 1979, and coached the team from 2002 to 2005. Burru is best known for having scored the winning goal for Argentina in the 1986 World Cup final against Germany.
Arsenal was promoted to successively higher divisions in 1962, 1986, 1992, and reached the top division in 2002.
